SONIC BLOOM, is a 3-day outdoor festival that will bring music, dance, art and human performance together in an atmosphere that inspires open channels of creativity for everyone involved, including the audience. Together with bands like ZILLA, who improvise their music, innovative DJs like Bassnectar, Blueteach and The Glitch Mob, live painters, fire performers, puppeteers, comedians, stilters, projection artists, dancers and costumers YOU will help us all to co-create our own world of communal improvised creative process.
You can also expect workshops, visionary art exhibits, sculpture, kids shows, food, recreation, camping, and a damn good dance party. We encourage people to bring costumes and the giving of small gifts to fellow festivarians. Come up to the high country for what will be an experience sure to move your body and your mind where the sky cracks open and music plays the band!
Sonic Bloom is a flash of unity among perfect strangers. A circle dance celebrating the movement of its own feet. Meaning manifested in action. It is a bubbling up of festivity & creative individual expression, and its intent is not to entertain but to engage! In dance & song; in conversation & costume...the fusing of disparate details into a transient tribe…the recognition of a moment shared.
This year's event will be held at Winter Park Mountain Resort, which means that not only will there be beautiful scenery for outdoor camping and recreation, there will also be the option for stylin' hotel accomodations. Go back to your room and have a shower or even a hot tub before getting all dressed up for the late night shows. Go have a nice sit-down meal at on of the resorts fine restaurants... or go back to your tent nestled up in the woods for a night under the stars...
