Miss Alaska is a ruffle loving, circus following, fire spinning, hula hooping, tiny hat wearing, tutu prancing, and ever pondering craftacular extraodanaire, who dreams away with her snugglie monster kitten, magic bunny, and her ever-supportive circus performer dream man in the booming desert town of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Nestled down in her hustling and bustling sewing hide-away, she loses countless hours of sleep racking her wee little noggin about future craft projects. No hobby lobby cart nor credit card is gargantuan enough to feed her ferocious appetite for creating, and she wonders why her other day job doesn't give PCTO ("Paid-Crafting-Time-Off"). Sigh...

Alaska is part of The Ritzy Rouge Hoop Troupe, a performance group that is innovating a new dance style that incorporates aspects of Improvisationl Tribal Belly Dance and hoop dance. Hooping Improvisational Tribal Style (HITS), Alaska's brainchild, is an emerging arena of dance that fuses and incorporates aspects of ITS Belly Dance and Hula Hooping to create a fresh, fun, and energizing menagerie of group performance art! With the love and drive of Tribal Style Belly Dance, HITS is an inspirational and fun activity that anyone can learn! Like ATS and its sister sprouts, HITS utilizes group formations, flowing transitions, and cues from a leader to create a new blooming dance in the ever growing garden of the Hooping world. Adding the Hoop as a prop and tool to work with and grow upon, new moves and combinations are born all the time, as this dance develops and expands upon itself.

Alaska and the Ritzy gals help fill the round void in the Hooping community of Albuquerque, and have a community Hoop Day that meets at Bataan Park( near the Walgreens on Carlisle and Lomas) every Sunday at 11am. So come on by and play!
